Maths For Families

Dear Mum/Dad/Somebody-at-home,

The way Maths is taught at schools has changed a lot over the years. To help your favourite Room 18er become a whizzier mathmatician, have a look under "General Links" for the NZMaths website. The site will help explain the changes to Maths teaching/learning AND provide lots of activities that can be done at home, specific to the stage your child is at. Best of all, the activities are FUN!

Cheers,
Mr. Nash

To make your typing better, try out the new BBC Dance Mat game! It's under the "General Links" area.

Podcastless Friday

Apologies for a Friday without a podcast! Technical difficulties this morning meant we couldn't record. It's too bad...there were lots of fantastic descriptions!

So many people came to the disco!

There were lots of competitions...like the dance-off!
The lights went out and all the glow-stuff looked really cool!

This was a Room 18 group dance.

The Tuck Shop was very busy all night.

Even Mr. Nash was at the disco dressed as a Survivor contestant!
Thanks to the PTCC for organising and running such a spectacular night for us.

New Pet

Our old pet (the fish) has been successfully re-introduced back into the aquatic biome from which it came! And this week, because Room 18 will be learning about the rainforest biome, we have adopted a TIGER. Thank goodness it's only just a little cub! Please feel free to feed it and play games with it!
