The way Maths is taught at schools has changed a lot over the years. To help your favourite Room 18er become a whizzier mathmatician, have a look under "General Links" for the NZMaths website. The site will help explain the changes to Maths teaching/learning AND provide lots of activities that can be done at home, specific to the stage your child is at. Best of all, the activities are FUN!

A new feature to the blog is now appearing on the left side of the page. "Sound Of The Week Words" is now appearing in our online world as well as along the windows of our classroom. These are the words we have brainstormed.
Our old pet (the fish) has been successfully re-introduced back into the aquatic biome from which it came! And this week, because Room 18 will be learning about the rainforest biome, we have adopted a TIGER. Thank goodness it's only just a little cub! Please feel free to feed it and play games with it!
