The Super Reader Award went to Jamie for reading with expression!
The RRAP (Respect, Responsibilty, Achievement and Pride) Award went to Summer for showing all the RRAP Values during her 3 days on the Throne as our Queen. She was a fantastic role model!

Today, Room 18 saw a performance put on by the Funky Monkeys. They were sponsored by World Vision and brought messages of giving to others who are less fortunate than ourselves. The website mentioned by the Funky Monkeys is now linked from our blog under the 'General' links. Their website includes one of the songs performed by the group available for free download!

I will not be at school next Tuesday...but hopefully Room 18 will be silently cheering me on throughout the day because I'll be filming as a contestant on the Wheel of Fortune! Yes, I'm ALL for educational game shows. Wish me luck! (And no, I will NOT be sharing any money afterwards!) (-;

Two Maths groups (Rua and Toru) put their new-found 3D shapes knowledge to good use around the room. They had a good hunt around for everyday objects in Room18 that used known 3D shapes and then they used their digital camera skills to take photos!

Every week, students create and publish artwork to go with their writing. The artwork is then uploaded to our blog for all to see. You can access the latest artwork by watching the slideshow to the right of your screen. To have a look at past artwork, you can click on the slideshow (away from the play button) and you will brought through to the web albums full of archived artwork.
To find out the name of the artist, you'll need to to be viewing the archived web albums mentioned above. On the right side of the Picasa Web Albums screen there is an option for "more info". After one click on that, the filename of the artwork will be displayed, revealing the name of the artist.
In Room 18, we use the locally developed software 'Art Rage 2'. There is a link on the left side of your screen under 'General Links' should you want to download the starter version of the Art Rage 2. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
